These aren’t isolated cases but a widespread phenomenon that is consistently dismissed, minimized, and even demonized.

It can be uncomfortable to learn, difficult to understand, jarring to fully realize. It seems unbelievable that families, parents, and trusted religious leaders would engage in and enable sexual abuse. This is why it’s not changed. This is why suffering continues.
